yep simon i agree its all about what people prefer ( i am a bit of an old rig biased chap) carrying on from the other thread they all operate from the same design ie' dual conversion am/fm single conversion ssb super het transceivers apart from earlier models like wks 1000, president adams etc which were single conversion for both modes, i will say though! some of these modern types of rigs made in china and korea certainly lack build quality in a big way ie, solder joints and lack of! laughable on some of the rigs i have had in for repair and the components! that have been used? well i could go on, but we will leave it at that cheers _________________ 26WR032 |

It's all personal choice at the end of the day... what you are most happy with I guess.
The Stalker 9FDX has proven to be one of the easiest DX (555) rigs I've ever owned - but lacks the coverage of the S9.
Just picked up another with the 'stealth' panel instead of the "70's" wood (for those of you without the fond memories of stacked boots, huge collars, and dreadful hairstyles)
So don't let the pseudo timber put you off trying one. _________________
